JatroBiofuels was founded in 2012 by Captain Lai Kuku to provide sustainable alternative fuels from non-food sources while reducing carbon emissions. We plan to develop and operate a robust core business, while leveraging our strengths with the use of innovative, efficient and cost effective technologies to provide biodiesel and bio jet fuel blends economically, and with positive environmental performance.
Our goal is to establish a commercial scale Jatropha Curcas Plantation in Arizona and the Southwestern United States for the production of Advanced “Drop-in” Biofuels, including biodiesel and biojet fuel blends.
Where We Stand
JatroBioFuels is the first company to successfully cultivate high yielding Jatropha Curcas plants in Arizona. With our proprietary agronomic techniques and planting practices, along with collaboration of local plant scientists, we have been able to select the best varieties of Jatropha, that have been successfully adapted to the Arizona climate. Due to our success, we will be scaling up the cultivation of Jatropha Curcas as the New Industrial Crop for Advanced “Drop-in” biofuels.
As pioneers of the development of Jatropha Curcas as the New Industrial Crop in the United States, our scaling-up plan will include Internships with local Community Colleges and Universities, job creation and local economic development of the rural agricultural communities. Once we have successfully scaled up, we will begin our commercialization phase by 2017.
Partnerships and Investments
With the commercialization of Jatropha Curcas, we will be establishing partnerships with local communities, Arizona colleges, farmers, and agricultural agencies. Financial investments will generate great returns while enabling the creation of jobs, increase agricultural learning at local universities, stimulate the economies of the local communities, and encourage agricultural diversity as farmers in rural America become suppliers of biomass materials to the new biofuels industry.
